Subban plays it out for Bourque, who pulls past Gardiner. Franson turns, and applies a light stick check, but the puck still goes across for Plekanec, with Gardiner too far behind to cause much trouble. His shot goes wide.

Video isn't the clearest about the setup; Ranger pinches and Plekanec chips it past him to Gionta. Gionta's got enough speed to stay out in front, though Gardiner manages to give him a small stick check.

Raymond carries nicely through the blue line and drops for Kadri. If Plekanec breaks it up, it could be trouble, but Nazem makes a nice move and gets a shot off from the slot. Raymond, having drifted wide after his drop pass, is all alone, with Diaz and Subban trying to mark Kadri in front. Raymond's angle isn't great, though.

Standard power play chance after a nice Phaneuf touch pass; Kessel's first shot is blocked by Tinordi, but the second falls right to him and he puts it wide. Kessel's reflexes and ability to get dangerous shots off on plays like these consistently impress.

Raymond bobbles a puck up the boards from Desharnais, Prust takes advantage, walking out in front for a good shot.

Not a great chance from Briere, a fake shot from Subban finds the debutant at the side of the net, might have been interesting as a one-timer.

Tinordi pinched to set up Kadri in the neutral zone, he gets back, but ends up stuck behind Kulemin, who opens a path to the net for Phaneuf. Montreal had a man trapped and another changing to allow the 4-on-3. Great shot from prime position by the Leaf captain.

An exchange in the corner between Raymond and Kadri that's only partially blocked by Markov. Kadri then throws a backhand pass past Tinordi to an open Lupul, uncovered by Gionta. The powerplay meands Ranger's free to race in for the rebound.

Leafs all come over to the near side when Eller has the puck, allowing him to thread a pass through to Markov. Good shot, but the delay allows Reimer to get over.
